Whistles

What is that?  A whistle you say?  Why on earth would there be a picture of a whistle on here?

Well my hobby is to umpire netball.  Which means I wear a fancy white uniform and officiate the game.  As an umpire I must ensure that the netball game is safe, under control and follows the rules.  I absolutely love to umpire and I am currently in the state league squad (there is about 25 - 30 of us in Western Australia).  I also teach some classes in schools - so it is a great way to get out of the studio and away from home.  The season is coming to an end shortly, but tonight I umpired a Division 1 game (some of the top adult players in the state and at 9.00pm - yikes!) and was tested. 

I'm very proud to say that I passed the test and was awarded my B badge! 

It has taken me two very long years of tests, exams, courses, practice, fitness training, and even more training to get to this point.  It was scary having three people standing at various points of the netball court with a notebook and pen, marking me on every decision I made.

Still, I can't stop beaming.  :)
