Upcoming events & exhibitions - Popsicle, Distracted and Candy Cult
So the secret is out. Rumours are abound, but now I can confirm them. :)
Here are just some of the events that I will be participating in this year -
Presented by The William Street Collective, Popsicle is a pop-up retail event that is the first of its kind in Perth. Held as part of the 2008 Perth Fashion Festival this September, Popsicle will house the current ranges of emerging designers and established businesses in an empty warehouse space in Northbridge's fashion precinct.
The retail space will offer a unique shopping experience providing a platform for designers to secure immediate sales and generate further interest in their brand from retail buyers and other industry professionals.
Collaboration between a group of interior designers, architects and retailers will transform the disused building at 214 William Street into Popsicle, which will stay open only for the duration of the Perth Fashion Festival, 2008. Popsicle! will run from the 3rd to the 14th of September.
Stay tuned for more details!
I will have a market stall at Distracted Little Market Day on October the 26th. I will reveal new paintings created especially for the event closer to the date! I'm so excited about being a part of this event.
I will be participating in a group exhibition called 'Candy Cult'. It will be an amazing event with a character art fair on the opening night! There are also some other secrets you won't see unless you pop on down... so be sure to note the dates down in your diary!
*please note - the dates have changed!! In bold below*
Candy Cult at the Breadbox Gallery, Northbridge. October 18th to November 2nd 2008 as part of the Artrage Festival.

Of course there are many more events & exhibitions on the Ali J calendar! I've also been incredibly busy applying for grants, scholarships and residencies - so I hope some of those opportunities will become available to me. My aim now is to grow my business to the next level and start challenging what I am creating and attempt to understand why I do it.
