Getting Ready For Summer

Today I was feeling a bit frustrated.  I seem to move one step ahead in life, and then six steps back again.  Every time I think a project is finished..... it isn't and I have to go and rework it.  Just as I think all the filing is done, I find a secret pile in a cupboard.  Then just as I think there is nothing wrong with the printer, it dies and I have to get a new one.

I'm not the type of person to sit down and chill out.  I channel flick, or I get up and do something else, or I sit down and work in front of the TV.  I don't have a big group of friends that I can just go out and socialise with on a whim, and I don't drink so there is no point going down to the pub to relax!

What I do instead is I exercise.  I only discovered this about 2 years ago.  It is drawing closer to summer here in Australia, which means it won't be long before next year arrives.  When next year arrives it means my state netball starts back up again and I need to be fit.  So my aim at the moment is to get fit - not just ordinary fit but super fit.

Anyway, it was a frustrating day and I had to get out of the house and relax.  I tell you I'm giving myself crazy hair!  So I decided to go for a bike ride.  Sound simple?  Well - did I tell you I'm also stubborn and strong willed?  This wasn't a simple ride to the shops.  No, I decided to ride to my boot camp fitness class...... which according to google maps is 14.8 kilometres away.  :)  Oh, and not to mention that I would have to ride back again!

So tonight I rode a total of about 29.6 kilometres and I had a 50 minute boot camp session at the beach.  Am I covered in blisters?  Yes.  Is my body aching?  Yes.  Am I relaxed?  Quite strangely - yes!  I'm actually aching to get back to work but instead I'm going to take a break and get back into the swing of things tomorrow.

Oh, and if that wasn't bad enough (yes I can hear all the groans from the thought of exercise) I've got my next boot camp session at 5.55am tomorrow morning at the beach again!  My job can be very stressful and I've learnt that exercise is my new passion!!

Summer.... here I come!
