In The Pumpkin Patch
I've been finding it difficult lately to illustrate. Not in coming up with the ideas, my sketchbooks are filled with them. However I have been struggling to create the work and then deem those peices completed.
Whilst I'm creating I need to have something that I would call a lightning strike. It is a sudden unplanned moment where the magic happens and the work springs to life. Lately however it hasn't been happening and too much work has been discarded. I'm being too perfect, too precious and I'm overthinking whilst I'm creating.
So to stamp that out, I've started to experiment with new techniques and just tried to be a little bit more free with what I create.
I had a nightmare the other night about being trapped in a pumpkin patch - like a cabbage patch kid waiting for someone to adopt them.
