my salvation
In times of need there are always two women who will be there for me. The singers Tori Amos and Sarah Mclachlan. Their songs are haunting, sad, emotional yet powerful. They sing about their life experiences - the good times and the bad. I know every single song on every CD both have ever released, and every word to every song. I can't stop playing their music right now, just allowing myself to be taken into another world.
I've had the amazing experience of seeing both in concert, and hope that one day I get the chance to meet them both. Even if you haven't heard of either singer before, you'll know their music. Sarah Mclachlan has a great number of songs on music soundtracks for movies - one is in a scene of Toy Story where the little girl throws away her beloved toy (driving in a car). Tori Amos has music that is a little more darker and alternative, her most 'popular' song being Cornflake Girl in the mid nineties.
Both singers have been around for 10 - 15+ years and have released more then 5 CD's each. I find their music is best listened to on your own, although Sarah has become popular the past few years with some of her songs being transformed into club music.
Would you believe my best artworks to date have been created whilst listening to their songs? I don't know why, I can't explain it but their voices take me to another world. I have a feeling that I'm going to be listening to a lot more of them this year.
