Ahhh, the end of the week. Brilliant.
Fridays are my rest days - so it was an even better day! I've got a weekend of netball again, so I had a great day today getting odd jobs done, some housework and starting on some of my projects.
We went to the library, that is the boyfriend and myself. He was still sick, so he stayed home. I had to get him out of the house for a while because he was so bored he was driving me crazy. So we made a deal. He could get some DVD's and CD's out of the library and I could photocopy.
I went a little overboard... and photocopied almost a whole visual diary. I got some great images from it though.
This was one of the projects I started tonight. I really, really wanted to do some sewing and do some cushions of my girls. I am considering these ones as prototypes. My aim is to do a few of them in different shapes and styles, and see how they come out before deciding on a line which I'm going to do in limited editions.
These are the basic shapes and designs of all of my girls. They have been developed from sketches from my journals. I sketched all of these over a 2 day period from trashy womans magazines based on celebrities. These were my favourites. :) These are the same size as my cushions, and were photographed on my dining table taking up most of the surface.
This is Sally. She is created with fabric collage, machine stitching and hand stitching. She has interface lining and polyester stuffing. In regards to her design I wanted to have a little bit of whimsy and charm. She is a small pillow.
This is Mandy. I wanted her to stay simple to reflect her character. She is created with machine stitching on calico. Currently she still needs some work. She needs interface lining and some polyester stuffing, but the basic design is complete. The boyfriend thinks she needs colour and more tone... but I kind of like the simplicity of her. She is very serene.
My other project for the night was to do a stencil and a couple of screenprints. It was a last minute decision, but I wanted to have a play around before designing some shirts for my boyfriend at the end of next week.

These are based on a photograph of one of the Veronica's. (If you are asking if I created the stencil - then yes I did. I'm multi-talented.)
